The Cairns Taipans have won their first ever playoffs series after a stunning 93-83 victory over the Townsville Crocs. The Crocs, who had home court advantage for game 3 were run out of the building after an impressive showing late by Daniel Dillon (21 points, 7 rebounds).
Cairns now advances to the Grand Final Series against the New Zealand Breakers. The Breakers disposed of their first round opponents the Perth Wildcats in the 3rd game on Wednesday.
The Breakers are favoured in the grand final matchup and will look to veteran leader and former MVP Kirk Penney for the series.
Game one of the Grand Finals series will be played in Auckland on Wednesday.
The breakers have home court in the series.
The game will be broadcast live around the nation at 4:30 eastern on OneHD.
